I am a marquetry artist, using wood as a medium of expression. My work is inspired by the geometry of early space exploration. In my work I am trying to use only natural components – solid wood blanks as a base, various veneers, mother-of-pearl, silver and gold, traditional hide glue and natural resin for a glossy finish.
In a past I did a furniture renovation. After a period of furniture intarsia, I returned to marquetry years later. During my degree I used many techniques, including painting, watercolour, calligraphy, as well making theatrical marionettes.
Outside the world of art, I help people. I am co-founder and director of Norfolk Polonia CIC, the Polish minority support organisation in Norwich (UK). In the past I have worked in Polish NGOs organisations, been a teacher, coordinated EU projects, and worked as a cultural animator. I graduated from the University of the National Education Commission (Poland) with a Master’s degree in Fine Arts Education.
