Due to the departure of our current Youth Projects Coordinator, we are now looking to appoint a new member to our team.
Responsible for developing, coordinating and delivering New Routes’ comprehensive program of activities for young refugees and asylum seekers in Norwich, including coordinating the New Routes Youth Mentoring Project, and other activities. The post holder will develop, maintain, and promote the service.
• You have experience working with young or vulnerable people with complex needs, as well as knowledge of the current trends in youth work and issues relating to young refugees and asylum seekers.
• You understand issues relating to asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants (including rights and entitlements), and have experience in providing sensitive, safe and empowering support to distressed people in vulnerable situations.
• You’re able to work as part of a team within what can sometimes be a high-pressure environment. You will have experience supporting, managing and developing volunteers.
• You are a creative thinker and can plan, facilitate, and evaluate group work activities and social well-being projects – as well as being able to adapt them to meet the diverse needs of a group of people from varying cultures, languages and backgrounds.
