About The Project
New Routes engages with the local workplace to recruit mentors to provide one-to-one supported work experience or career guidance to recently resettled refugees and other ethnic minorities in Norwich. Mentor volunteers are also local people who spend 90 minutes each week supporting a recently resettled person to identify their skills, aspirations and achievements and to set targets and take actions to achieve their goals.
Training is offered to local people and more settled ethnic minority volunteers to use their practical skills and knowledge, to befriend and support recent arrivals to the city. Volunteers help with orientation, provide supported access to services, learning and social opportunities and smooth the routes to integration.
