CORONAVIRUS UPDATE 2
13th March 2020
We have taken the difficult decision TO STOP ALL GROUP ACTIVITIES AT NEW ROUTES AS OF TODAY UNTIL 20TH APRIL (after the Easter holidays); we have a lot of participants with health issues and believe that this is the best solution to safeguard people’s health.
We will continue to monitor the situation and re-evaluate opening in due course. English classes will continue online – please pass this message on to your mentees, and encourage them to join our Facebook ESOL group for updates from Jenny.
As long as Public Health England are not prescribing stricter social distancing measures, we are happy for mentors to continue meeting one-to-one, but request that you refrain from hugging or shaking hands. Meetings are at the discretion of mentors and mentees, so if you or your mentee does not wish to continue meeting during this period, of course that is fine.
If this is the case, you could consider telephone meetings instead, if it would be appropriate for your partnership. Other planned activities, such as safeguarding training on Wednesday 25th March, and The Grange Families Day on 14th April will go ahead, unless the situation changes.
Please keep an eye on our Facebook and website for updates. Staff will continue to work in the office part-time, so should participants or volunteers wish to speak face-to-face to a member of staff, please ring to make an appointment first. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us, as always.
